Thread: Cannot open rear door

Hi All,

I cannot open the rear right door using either the inside or outside handles.
Locking and unlocking the door does not do anything, though i can hear the locking mech working.

I took off the door card and was planning on following the instructions (Door Lock Failure: Getting the Door Open (4.0/4.6/p38A)) to destroy the latch to get the door open. The instructions are for a FRONT door, which seems much easier because you can get on top of the latch through the window opening. However rear window does not extend over the latch. I can only access the latch through the door panel.

Does anyone have experience with removing a rear door latch while the door is locked shut? Any tips would be much appreciated.
