Thread: P38A weird electrical door module ticking

Hi Guys and Guyesses,
Back ground first. This is the car that ended up on its LHS on a hillside at a place called Carcalgong about 50km's SW of Mudgee. It was repaired with second hand doors from Andy as well as a new piece of cant rail above the LH door. That was about 2 1/2 years ago. Anyway about 6 months ago it stared doing weird things on the LH door, intermittent at first eventually the fault stayed on hard. With the ignition on ie driving msg centre displays window not set and window does not move, the door mirror is inactive, the door speakers are inactive, and if you open and close the door I get a msg saying the LH Front door is open. Lastly the door module emits an annoying ticking sound at slightly less than 1 second intervals. When I stop the car and select accessory on the key everything works fine, I get sound and the window goes up and down. 1 last clue might be the locking as the LH chatters on locking. Last month I bought a door control module on E-Bay from the UK and all was well until last week when the fault reoccurred. All suggestions greatfully accepted.:

I know it will be a pain in the proverbial to check... I would hazard a guess that there may be a pinched or exposed wire in the loom going to or inside the door.
