    P38 flexplate woes

    Hi guys,
I'm about to replace the flexplate on my 96 4.6, it's started making a rattle on idol and neutral. So my question is....should I replace the torque converter at the same time? Also are second hand flexplates worth the gamble?
    Any advise would be welcome.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I would imagine that unless the flex plate has allowed enough movement to damage the noise of the t.c. I don't think it's warrented.

Hasn't done anything like that myself though.

    Been there done that.

    Get a new flex plate.

Get the nose of the TC checked. I needed a new one.

Get the hub aligner into which the TC nose fits checked. I needed a new one as mine was chewed.
