My p38 is now Registered
After buying a P38 late last year from Queensland and driving it back to Melbourne, I finally got it Roadworthy and then registered last Friday.
It was supposed to be ready to go for RWC as mentioned by the seller on eBay. Several phone calls and email photos, but upon closer inspection....
So far, I've done the following;
Fitted the Audi A6 heater core.... no more O-rings!
Replaced all hvac and cluster lamps.
New upper and lower balljoints.
New tie rod.
New drag link.
2nd hand front fog light.
Fitted a set of 2nd hand 99% tread 245/75/16 Cooper S/T tyres.
Made up the EAS bypass kit with custom mounting plate.
Fitted a VSR & auxiliary battery.
New handbrake boot.
Console lid strut.
New pollen filters.
New plenum chamber filter & stainless screws.
New air oil and fuel filters
New wiper blades all round.
Already purchased and ready to go in;
60L fridge
UHF & aerial
Lightforce driving lights.
Things to do;
Get the after market stereo working to all speakers and eliminate whine.
Get the MCC Falcon 707 Bullbar
Get Tigerz winch.
Looking forward to getting it dirty.
Cheers,
HEYVJ

The list looks familiar, I've done most of that on my P38 too.
I did the pollen filters this weekend, the old ones were piled up with grey gunk, flies, moths, leaves and who knows what else.
Looking forward to seeing the pictures too

I haven't had much time to myself over the past 10 Months.
I started a new job as I took a redundancy after 20 years with one company (should have stayed, now that I have to work until 70).
The new job has new working all over Australia and 5 days a week... How rude!
As a result of not having much time to myself, I haven't driven my Rangie since late February.
I have however fitted an ORS Fridge slide into my custom built cargo area setup. Had to be quick to remove as I am currently keeping the spare in original position.
Today I finally fitted a 2nd hand HARDRANGE Winch Bar. I found it in early March at a transport yard in Melbourne... still attached to a P38. The P38 went to Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide.
I managed to buy the bar and get it freighted back to my place in Werribee.
So, after having it sit there for nearly 6 weeks, I finally fitted it.
I still wont be driving the Rangie for a while. Tomorrow I'll be driving my Charger for its 2nd outing since Christmas. Hoping to get the Rangie out for Queens Birthday Weekend.
Cheers,
HEYVJ

Well done for the effort to get the Rangie back on the road, I can't believe the cheek of some companies, 5 days, madness I tell you!
I'm sure you will find the time in the end, then it will all be worth it.
