Auto trans filler pipe nut stuck

    Hi guys, looking for thoughts.

Just did the service on the auto - new filter plus some fluid. Had a time of it though cause the filler pipe nut would not loosen. I realised it was not coming off when the threaded inlet on the auto's sump was starting to twist. Being a bit older and wiser I stopped as soon as I saw this. I managed to get the service done but it would have been easier without the filler tube waving around in the breeze while trying to line up the sump with the auto.
So I'm looking for methods to loosen the nut so it can be seated at a more realistic tension. I tried WD 40 and a light tap on the spanner with a hammer (the hammer taps did not twist it, that happened by hand only), but thats my bag of tricks empty. I was thinking heat but have no idea how to apply it safely. I could also take it to a mechanic like a normal human being, but that just seems unnatural.
    Any Ideas?

    Cheers
    John

Some heat on it is probably a good option.

I have come across this before, it is not helped by the grip of the inverse taper on the nut, clamping the tube to the nipple fitting on the sump pan.

Heat may or may not help.

The good thing is that a RRC or D1 ZF sump pan is the same, a D2 one will also be fine except they have a filler plug, not a tube. You may just have to get nasty wiv it...

    Thanks fellas.

Thanks for the input guys. I think getting nasty wiv it is a good option. I'll get a spare pan first.

    Cheers.
