According to RAVE, the DSP was added in MY2000, so not all of use have it!

It is DVD/GPS/ am fm/ digital TV/ Rev Camera/ Bluetooth/Ipod/Steering Controls have left original speakers only issue is when I turn unit off get small hiss from speakers. Even works with side cameras.
Am about to install OZi explorer into it also for offroad mapping too!

    Hi

Oddly enough I am now inclined to look for an one DIN all in one unit.

I really don't want 3 or 4 screens, I want a reversing camera, GPS and music all in one unit. There just is no way to do this with an iPad.

Apparently the latest units keep the steering wheel controls etc

I will research more and keep all informed

    Regards
    Steve

    iPod/Bluetooth solution

If you have the money to put in a new exhaust it will be worth it... More power and hear the best V8 sounding engine ever made.

Did you take your Pajero off road? And will you be taking this off road? There is a huge difference. The P38 will walk areas you really struggled with the Paj, just no deep water!

The alternative is to replace the head unit. There are some available that are compatible with the rest of the system. I wanted to do away with the CD changer and dub woofer, so ended up changing the whole audio system, which has enabled DVD, iPod, Bluetooth, reversing camera (for girls) - oh and a wireless! And GPS if you want.
Okay, I finally got around to sorting out the iPod/Bluetooth in my 99 by keeping the factory Alpine head unit.

Cushie Audio in Sydney sell the GROM BT3 unit which has:
    1. iPod connection
    2. Aux connection
    3. Microphone and built in Bluetooth which will pair with your phone. I have an iPhone 5.

Simple installation by connecting to CD changer plug at back of head unit.

Works via all steering wheel controls

Cost $220 and took me 30mins to install

    Highly recommended!

    Cheers Simon

    Hi

Looks like a great little unit. What harness did you use? According to the web site it does not mention a RR older than 2002 using the bmw stereo.
