    CV boot refitting help!

I'm in the middle of replacing my worn cv joint, all going good so far, got the old one off no worries, but I'm having trouble trying to refit the old boot to the new cv joint.
For the life of me I just can't seem to get the large end of the boot and metal ring to go over the new cv.
The metal ring that holds it in place will start to go on, then slip off one side, causing me to have to start over again, it's driving me insane!
Those of you who have done this before, can you give me any tips to get it back on?
    Any help most appreciated.

Get some big cable ties. I used them and they are still holding strong, I did go the whole hog and buy a new boot.

I was thinking of trying to get a hold of something like this:
EPI CV Boot Clamp KIT | eBay

But the cable tie idea is a great one!
How long have you had cable ties on yours for?

Since the write up I did on changing the cv. I would emphasise that the cable tie is a very heavy type, probably 7 to 8 mm wide. Do you know any Telstra techs

Took your advice wayneg, got some heavy duty cable ties and that seemed to do the trick nicely. Thanks for the great tip!
