Oil light
Driving last night, I noticed through the corner of my eye, a red flsah on the dashboard, drove for another ten minutes and then there it was... my oil light flshed on for about a second and then disappered. I pulled over and checked the oil level and all was good (up to max mark), it did this a couple more times before I got home. It seems to do this only when I am ideling, any ideas.

Hi Mike
This is either a bad oil pressure switch or a worn engine, particularly the big end bearings.
You could hook up an oil pressure gauge and see what the pressure is actually running at.
I hope it's the switch

Ditto that, an oil pressure guage. It's trully a dog to hook up though! Short of buying a filter sandwich plate, it's an 1/4 inch unf (actually uno) thread - not bsp.
It's not uncommon for the oil pressure switches to go bung. Mine started that behaviour on my classic (same part number) and with a new one it was all good.

IMHO just buy a new switch.
They are not expensive and if the light still comes on , the money you have spent on the switch is insignificant to what is to come , and probably should be replaced anyway.
Just check the wiring from the switch to make sure it is not shorting on anything. The switch completes and earth for the bulb.
I am speaking from experience as I one rebuilt an engine, only to start it up and still have a red light. LOL Not funny at the time.

RR P38 I have no idea, the PO had it service (oil, filter, air filter and plugs) before he parked her for about a year (so he says), because he bought at 2011 RR. Negotiated for about 3 months till I got him down to a price i could pay.
Second week with her now and still sorting out the little stuff, guess i'll do a full service including an oil switch and see what happens.
