Gearbox overheat message - Faultmate needed in Melbourne!

    Hi folks

My brother has bought a 1997 4.6 HSE P38 and is working flyin/flyout in Abbortsford Melbourne. Is there anyone on this wonderful person from around there that can help him clear that gbox overheat fault?

We are confident that it is a furfy, and its persistent message in the message centre covers up all other kinds of messages (including normal running stats).

My faultmate is VIN locked, so is of no use to him.

    Regards
    Glen

Awesome thanks benji. If he can and ensure that you aren't held up at all, what number should he call? Can you pm me?

i don't think you will find much with a fault code reader. check if it is actually getting too hot, check that it has not had its connector connected to something else (normally during crash repairs), check for damage to the loom or the becm is having a breakdown.

Abs fault too if battery is low.
It may be worth checking the little sensor on the trans cooler, and the sensor on the transfer case too.
