    easy electrical question

    Hello people,

I was just wondering if someone with a gems 4.6 (mine is a 1995 but I expect they will all be the same) could tell me what colour the wires are that come out of the air conditioning compressor plug, just sorting the wiring on my engine swap and the kit I have says I need a white and green wire (white with a green stripe) and I don't have one of them (every other combination known to man but not that one), so I am hoping one of you kind people could have a quick look and tell me what I'm looking for.

thanks for any and all help

Just so happens a 4.6 Gems turned up at my place 1/2 an hour ago. The a/c clutch plug is a largish (20mm dia) white nylon round plug with two small wires, one being white with a green stripe, the other is black. They are very small wires compared to any of the power hungry devices. The green stripe is hardly visible unless illuminated strongly.

then I shall get back out there in daylight and find the damn thing tomorrow after work, thanks at least I know I am looking for the right thing, I actually have the plug in the engine loom, just need to know what to connect it to on the car side, really frustrating when almost everything else has worked out and that one wire is so hard to find, will recheck my white wires for stripes.

    cheers

Aah, you mean the plug on the actual compressor? It's red and black and is direct off the compressor, not connected to any part of the engine loom at all. The mating plug's cable is wired from the body harness behind the EAS box, comes out behind the air cleaner.

    hah, you found it already..
