I installed the reversing camera on the tailgate as per the rr.net thread and it works a treat, see the pic for the view
Still waiting for my DIN spacer and the side bits from nexxus so it looks a bit agricultural still. see the pic for why it has to sit out to allow the screen to fold out, hence the need for a 20mm spacer.
The bluetooth stuff with the iPhone works a treat, hands free kit built in as well. Music goes down when phone rings and music can be stopped, started and skipped or replayed from the screen
Excuse the reflections on the shots, one from outside the the others from the interior light
I am fitting a rear view camera and I am trying to find some where in the console, dash area where I can tap into the reverse gear sensor rather than run a wire all the way from the reverse lights

Hi Rushy,
the wire from the camera to reverse lights is easiest as it purely switches camera power on when you select reverse. You then need to earth out the negative to tailgate somewhere & run the av leads to your monitor ( this is only wire that needs to reach dash - unless you use a wireless camera of course.
I have similar setup to steves above and it works well.
Steve If you check wires from unit that are for steering controls you simply need to connect to two wires that come from behind steer coloumn which I think one is brown & other is orange. Will check my vehicle when i get it back later this week & confirm, but its very easy to do.

That will not work with my set up as it is a Nav/BT/MP3/ Rear camera so it needs a trigger (12v) to tell the head unit to change modes, that's why I thought maybe something from the XYZ switch or such like. If push comes to shove I could use the tailgate wiring but it is such a pain in the butt discretely running wires through the car.
I am not 100% sure on this but know most of the signal wiring to the ecu`s and Becm will not be 12v. To be safe I would take the reverse light 12v feed from the trailer plug located behind the right hand rear cluster.
Im sure mine also has a feed wire that needs 12v on rear of headunit.
this can be connected to same source that powers unit from memory.
will double check mine when i have car back and let you know.
After reading Wayne's comment I think I might go with the trailer wiring, I thought about it myself last night and realised that although it is a pain getting the wiring from one end of the car to the other it is probably safer than playing with wiring that may affect the TCU. One good thing about a forum like this, you get to read second opinions before you screw things totally so thanks for the help.
I finally got the r/view camera install finished, I picked up a reverse light wire near the r/h lamp cluster, what a job getting the wires to the head unit, the supplied cable was 5m long and I only had 0.5m left. The trim came of easy but I am always scared as LR plastic seems to go brittle with age. I now have Bluetooth, navigation, audio streaming, video and reverse camera while still retaining a relatively stock look. My next task is to change the nav unit from a gloss black to a matte black so the whole thing looks factory
