    Oil relief valve o ring

    Can anybody tell me the correct size/measurement of the o ring that fits the oil pressure relief valve. Removed my front cover to do my oil pump and realized they are both broken and hard as wood. No help from my normal parts supplier and the dealer is not an option.

    I made these notes from a thread here a while ago

    oil pickup tube oring; 19mm inside diameter, 1.5mm dia.

    Oil pressure relief valve o ring; 19mm inside diameter, 1.5mm dia.

    Also note that oil pressure relief valve o'ring is a special rubber not normal black rubber it is called "viton" from memory I have part no somewhere see if i can find for you. Bought some to do mine but still in bag in shed. Picked it up at bearing shop.

    Found 19mm x 1.5mm at a o ring shop yesterday for $0.51 each, ordered 4 and had them overnight to me for $35.00...jesus. Put them in but had problems with the oil pump install so should start her up tomorrow and let you guys know. Unbelievable how two little o rings can cause me so much stress, rig has been down for 4 days now...ugh. If these rings are wrong and I develop a oil leak, believe me epoxy or liquid steel will have to save the day...lol

    Started her up on Sunday night and all is good as far as my oil relief valve problems go Thanks again Steve....correct size of the o rings are 19mm x 1.5mm and I was able to get hold of Viton as suggested. Still not driving as I tried to change a leaking oil hose from the cooler to the pump and stripped the threading on the cooler, new cooler should be here on Thursday.

    My buddies try to console my be telling me don't worry when I am done spending on this rig it should run like a dream. Spent so much already that there is no turning back now...told wifey we cant sell the rig and hope to recover anything so I will just enjoy my truck and she can bury me in it when I am gone...she didn't think that was funny and had to sleep on the couch last night...lol.

    I refer to it as being "in too deep". As you say, there's no turning back now. If we were at all sensible, we'd have bought a diesel Toyota. But where's the fun and challenge in sensible. Sensible is a cheaper option though.
