Dunno. My 4.6 has a Stage 2 cam from a Classic. It has bee modded for the later engine, i.e., cutting off the distributor/oil pump drive, etc.

It was done when there were no aftermarket cams available in Oz.

There may be an issue with the cam gear and the cam angle sensor. I know that they are different and may not interchange.

The parts listing doesn't seem to differentiate between Gems & Thor so it will fit if that's the case.
Whether it will work as well as you expected is another matter.

I might see if I can get the specs of a high performance 4.0 shaft and see if they're similar.

The cams are also different in the grind lift and duration. I had a 4.0 cam in my 4.6 and it was ****house. Swapped to the right cam and it came good. It might work in the 4.0 and stuff some more air in but the ECU doesn't have the compensation in the timing. Has a lot of faults in knock, advance, etc. Air flow figures were down by comparison.

If it were the other way around I wouldn't be considering it. The high torque cam I've got in my 4.6 is the same grind as a super hot track 3.5 cam with slightly more overlap. The larger capacity requires a more radical cam, and can handle more overlap.

Sadly Wade Cams seems to have closed for good, but a P76 Cam is the same beast!
