    Interior light not working correctly.

I have just noticed the interior light does not come on when I open the drivers door. It does come on when I unlock the door. Also there is no door open message on the dash so I presume whatever switch is involved is not working. Of course a std door switch is not used so where do I look.
When I got the car I had to take out the glass and window mechanism so its possible I might have dislodged something in the fight to get it all back in.

By what you describe its all not happening in the door lock, I think there are 2 microswitches in them, or a dislodged connector if your lucky!!!

Does the 'door open' warning still work?
If not, then it's likely to be one of the microswitches in the door latch at fault.
I'd imagine there's one for the key lock & one to tell the car that the door is open/ajar.

I had this happen a few months ago. In my case there was a single black wire going from the lower door cavity to the door micro-switch that had popped off it's hold and the window had severed the wire on it's way down one day.

I had to get my head right in the door cavity to spot it.

    Cheers

The Gods must be happy today
Playing with the door The lights, interior and puddle came on after the door was opened for 10 secs or so. I grabbed a can of WD40 and hit the lock from the outside with plenty, also from the top, running down the door knob ( hopefully )
Opening and shutting the door over and over got the 10 secs down to instant so something inside must have got sticky.
I then tried the other doors and the right rear was the same, no lights. Hit that with WD40 and the same result until instant response.
Checked the dash and I now have door open warnings again
    Happy Days.
