Alternator charging.
I was supposed to put this up a while ago.
When I started the car with the new cam the rev tacho started to jump around and eventually it died. The battery voltage then started to go down on the nanocom. I didnt want to switch it off as I wanted 20 minutes of cam run in, but at 8.3 volts the ecu started to misfire, (bless the nanocom it was still going strong).
It turned out to be a corroded charge light wire at the back of the alternator, but it got me thinking. In the late classics a broken charge bulb will stop the alternator from charging, and it would seem the same in the gems (at least) p38s too.
So another thing to be added to the spares kit.
