My understanding is of both the lights come on then is a pressure issue. I'll have to double check though. Is yours gems or bosch?

Hi People,
The other night I found a thread about the brakes on a P38 now I can't find it again, I even downloaded the article about replacing the accumulator.
The brake motor doesn't come on for long when the ignition is started, what I would regard as normal. I left the vehicle in the shed for a couple of weeks a few weeks ago and the reservoir back filled, I suspect that this is a different issue to the flashing lights issue, this is just information, just in case they are connected. Since starting to use the old girl again everything is normal.
My issue is when I apply the brakes a little bit more urgently than normal two lights flash up on the dash and then go off again, one is the TC light the other is the red one next to it.
The brakes work fine, no loss of fluid and under normal progressive braking no lights. Even if I apply the brakes slowly at the beginning and then stand on them later, no lights.
My other P38 did this so I'm starting to think this is "normal", go on shatter my illusion. The brake pedal is firm, brakes don't pull, pads aren't worn.
Any ideas?

Hi Benji,
1996 Gems, 4.6 HSE
Rave says the red light indicates low pressure. So your charge ball may be charging up quickly enough but it might not be holding a lot of charge.
How many brake applications do you get between the brake charge motor coming on?
The etc light is supposed to indicate etc activation or a fault. But if it were a fault I imagine it should stay on.

No doubt you probably require a new accumulator.
Jc
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Hi Scouse,
Four to five years, right then I would say that I'm up for an accumulator, I sort of thought I would be just wanted to confirm things.
Hi Benji,
Couple of good points, thank you.
