    Heater problems

Ok here is another problem thats just started this morning.

The passenger side of the truck is blowing cold all the time, the drivers side is fine. The fans are running fine.

I have no leaks anywhere just no hot air coming through.

Could this be a relay fault, i have no warnings anywhere. Is this something i can fix. These great sunnt -5 mornings in Canberra need some heat. The rear heaters are also blowing cold.

    blend motors.........if undertaking, do them all ( 3 )

Have done mine, ordered from Island 4 x 4.....3 x Britpart blend motors. Brand new and one was faulty. Was a hassle to send back so used one of the ones in situ that was working.

    So far all good.......

Will prob regret it one day for not sending back.....

    Good Luck

I went to Canberra Motor Works for them to check it out. They said the laptop showed blower motor fault.

Coming back, the bloody thing started to work both sides and then cut out again. They want approx $2500.00 to do it.
I cant afford that and there is no way i can do it myself.

That's why we call them the stealers !

I may be as simple as a dodgy connector or a bad earth.

Double check all the wiring to the motors

    Bloody typical (sorry).

Connect up the diagnostics and believe what the software says. Tell the customer and take no responsibility at all.

IF it is correct, you can swap out the motor for a used one (could be the brushes, easy fix, or the controlling transistors on a board inside the motor housing).

The better way IMHO is to do a complete check:

    Fuse box
    Relays
    Connections
    Blower motors as above.

DIY and spend part of the saving on a Nano Evo, then you can sit calmly and run proper diagnostics like forcing the blowers to run and articulating the blend motors yourself.

    Good luck - don't despair!

There's a few wires going to the blower motors but they both have a constant 12v feed when the ignition is on (via the thick wire).
The HEVAC control unit (which is part of your climate control display) controls how fast the motors run.
If there's no power at the motor with the ignition on, it could be a dodgy relay in the fusebox or it could be a poor connection between the fusebox & blower motor. There is a main connection behind the O/S kick panel if you want to have a look see in there.
