I'm excited.. I'm off to DPL to make the final payment on the p38 now.
When I pick it up isn't known yet, DPL have said they would supply it with a blue slip, and it will probably take them time to make the arrangements for that.

    Let's see how today goes.

I have the receipt for the sale of the car, I have the blue slip, I have the green slip. Let's see what the RTA have to say about it.
(I'm aware that the RTA doesn't exist anymore, and that the RMS is rebranding to 'Service NSW', but my local is still RTA branded).

If all goes well, Ill be dropping in at the NRMA later today to pick up their top level of roadside coverage.

Thanks Gary! Things went fairly well, including (unexpectedly) the experience at 'Service NSW'.

DPL had it ready on Thursday, and I picked up the bill of sale and blueslip from Bruce then, unfortunately I spent all of Friday in hospital, so I'm doing the rego stuff today.

It's now registered, and as soon as I head over to DPL, and put the license plates on it, I'll be able to drive it away.

    4.8 liters of stroked awesome.

Any suggestions on where to start with checks/maintenance would be appreciated (I just had DPL do an oil change).

The P38 is now sitting in the driveway. It drives as smooth and comfortably as you would expect something with the Range Rover name to. It's like driving an armchair.

I've found four issues with it so far:
    - Cruise control not working.
    - Fuel flap won't open (and it's very low on fuel).
    - Both flip-out keys are very damaged, will need new casings.
    - Neither flip-out key seems to work with regards to the buttons.

I remember one of the keys worked when I took it for the test drive, and the car tells me 'key battery low', so that should be an easy fix.
I'll be grabbing a couple of key fixing kits from eBay, I guess.

Fuel flap will only open when ignition is off, and possibly key removed, I can't remember but when I picked up mine it took a while to find the button and then work out why it wouldn't open when pressed.

The fuel release only works with the engine off....could be the solenoid behind the flap. Try having someone hold the button down whilst you use something thin (credit card) and try and prise it open. If this fails you can remove the cover on the inside of the rear under the glass behind the flap and then remove the solenoid...I have read that as a last resort they can be broken and the plastic is cheap to replace......hope this is some help.

    imatt, daf11e, thank you.

I've only tried the fuel flap while the car was running, I'll try it with the ignition off in the morning.
