I hate the way these get embedded now

google "PC99-X14.pdf" to find the pdf

We didn't get Phillips radios out here with the P38s so I assume this is referring to the Disco or other markets.

According to the text at the bottom of that PDF, we need PC99-X08 for the Clarion cars & PC99-X30 for the Alpines.

IIRC, don't you have some sort of Nexia kit in your car Ron?

Yes. But it didn't work and couldn't possibly have worked. I had to redesign the circuit. The plugs and sockets were useful though.

    Hi Ron,
did you replace the battery leads-positive first then negative.

I recently got mine back from the mechanic after it had been off the road for some time, and the radio was showing a tuning error.
After replacing the battery earlier this week, the radio was restored after replacing the leads according to the book and putting the radio code in.

The 2000 P38 HSE I bought 2 weeks ago has an integrated (sort of) JVC KD-R526 head which does talk to the steering wheels controls - and has a non-genuine sat nav. Unfortunately I can't tell you much else about it's setup at the moment but it's been used for about 3-4 years.

In fact, I'm not even interested in having a look at the back of the console as I now have to repair the heater core which broke (not the o-rings, Gundagai) when I drove the car home from Melbourne to Canberra when I bought it.

There must be a message in that, but I did take enough tools to lock out the heater system, bled the cooling lines and drove home, slowly. I'll write more about this later on but I'm a bit busy at the moment.

Yes. Always do it that way.

The radio won't power on. I can refit the original Clarion if needs be.

    Hey guys,
I installed a cheap ebay all in one about 3-4 years ago which has SWC that works in my 95 P38!

It has 7" fold out Touchsreen with DVD/GPS/TV/ AM/FM Bluetooth Reverse camera etc.
(Win Ce OS which means it will run Ozi Explorer if you like for offroad mapping.)
I have setup a roof mounted flip down dvd for rear also as well as side cameras which are all connected to this unit, it works great for cost of about $300 delivered to my door! Can't beat that.

Having said that, recenently it decide to start adjusting volume itself but im not sure if thats a P38 issue or the unit, i will disconnect SWC wires to identify culprit. But I dont mind replacing now & costed an equivalent Alpine/Pioneer unit at Autobarn $2000.00 + depending on how many add on modules you choose - GPS alone +$800.

I could replace this 7 times for that!
Plus this unit takes up less space!

Do you have an eBay link, or a make and model?

Was something disturbed under the column yesterday? I'm sure I saw a rat living in that 'temporary' wiring somewhere .
