Looks like you need to get under the car to do the job. Does anyone know if it can be done from above ?

    Hi Steve
IIRC the GEMS (Lucas) CKP is a different design / position from the Thor setup. The Lucas version is accessible I believe through an inspection plate under the vehicle on the back of the bell housing... a few years ago Ron P38arover had to replace one as a result of a jiggered flex plate ... I seem to recall reading about it on rangerovers.net ... good luck!

Under the car unfortunately, N/S of engine & held in place with 2 small bolts. There's a spacer plate/block under the sensor too.

Curses! You could have picked up the SCSI CDROM drive from Steve for your Testbook.
