Thread: Coil packs

I know nothing about this ignition system on the P38a at the moment so I am thinking out loud here.
I am doing stuff to Me Disco.
I would like to put a top hatted 4.6 with 3.9 heads and stuff ( which I would have to source and acquire ) or even 3.9 heads with Edilbrock gear.
Thats not the question though.
Instead of fitting 3.9 front covers so as to fit a distributor could I just fit coil pack ignition ?
Are these thingy's stand alone or would I need ECU's and rubbish to make it fire.
