You could certainly have some fun with it!! In a safe environment of course. I wonder what the breakers yards do with them.
Hi all
What can you do with an undeployed steering airbag?
It's not like you can throw it in the rubbish or sell it seeing that is still active.

Hi Andy
I had been wondering about that myself there are certainly some passenger side ones for sale on eBay
My passenger side one has a noticeable external dent in it and I was thinking it might need to be replaced but I imagine a new one is $$$$$
Unless you can find some drunk Russians, maybe call in to a wrecker and ask them what they do with them.
Steve
On a more serious note these things contain some serious poison!
"Sodium azide is not only explosively reactive, it is also extremely toxic and is, in fact, as powerful as a poison as sodium cyanide and ingesting very small amounts can cause death in less than half an hour. It is a metabolic poison which inhibits certain key enzymes and has a serious effect on the cardiovascular system."
Fourtitude.com - How to "dispose" of an airbag?
Looks like taking it to a wrecker or even a LR service centre might be the safest option
Steve
We used to turn them upside down on the ground, loosely twist some long wires onto the wires on the back, then (making sure you're upwind) set it off with a 9 volt battery - man those suckers move!
Do that at your own risk though.
There was a landrover procedure to dispose of them though.
