Over the years many people have done various versions of shocks and bags. And as is evident here, many have made up their own spacer kits. There are quite a few "life hacks" around this stuff, like using the std front shocks on the rear and buying new fronts only (Road Boss, Terra Firma and numerous others available). Or using Arnott's Gen two bags to bring the price down a little (I have had this set up for quite a few years). There are also Dunlop's and Continentals... and I know at least one fella who has put the Chinese Arnott copies under his P38 with no issues reported.

THE CLEAR ADVANTAGE OF THE ARNOTT'S IS THAT THEY HAVE GREATER TRAVEL (by a couple of inches). Many Report they also have a better spring rate (hard on compression and soft on extension) which is supposedly in reverse of the std boges. However, IMHO, I honestly haven't really noticed too much difference in the various cars I have traveled in over the years.

I don't think there are actually any rights or wrongs... in the end, it simply seems to come down to "you get what you pay for" AND "the budget drives the value equation".

Dave, what are you doing for the extended front bump stops. I'm fortunate to have original HRA extended ones but as you are no doubt aware they are as rare as rocking horse poo

A fellow forumite did promised me some time back about using my "Pretty Pig" to prototype this... will follow up again to see if he's ready yet. If not, I may just have to proto one for HRA.

Would prefer not to as he does a great job of the disco2 one, I have seen one of them in Rangieman's disco and it's very well finished/made.

Just a brief note to let P38 forumites know that we finally (after way too bloody long) have a batch of P38 HRA spacer kit's ready to go... Powder coated spacers, stainless fixings, bright red bump stops.

A few patient early orders/takers have been sold and sent, the rest (10) will be advertised in the correct place (AULRO Verandah) soon.
