The Trouble and Strife is obviously a person of taste and discernment

I wish I had the energy to build up my other P38A into what I think a capable P38A tourer should be.

If it was good enough for the Queen... Then it should definitely be good for you too JC!
Enjoy the P38 Rangie experience and forget the nonsense from the jealous old luddites. In saying that, you will get challenged here and there. Plenty of info and experts around here to steer you through the minefield of non-truths and exaggerations though. It should only be an uneasy time until you get on top of the PO's outstanding maintenance and put the vehicle onto a preventative maintenance program.
Don't know if I would bother with the diesel idea to be honest. Properly set up LPG will increase your range and reduce the running costs without harming the vehicle. The write ups I have read about the factory diesels are that they were slug's.

Hoo-Roo,
Dave.
'Tourer' and '4.6L on LPG' don't go in the same sentence.
Besides.
JC has his head screwed on just right, and therefore knows how to make a Td5 anything but a slug
So come on JC.
Get that Td5 in, get it mapped and a nice big IC, throw a VNT on it and get some earmuffs because the V8 fanboys will be shrieking long and loud![]()
