    GEMS IAC Valve cleaning

    Hi

It seems an often overlooked service item is the Idle Air Control Valve. I just happened to read on rr.net that cleaning them every now and again with some carby cleaner is a good idea.

So I had a look at mine and it was a wonder it worked at all The carbon was built up on it about 3mm thick in some places and the seat inside the plenum cover had buildup as well.

Once i cleaned it and put it all back together the care wouldn't idle at all until I reset the adaptive values.

So it's worth checking it on the GEMS, it's on the side of the plenum intake near the Throttle Position Sensor

Thanks Steve useful tip. Going to have a look at mine and give it a clean.

Well done on the injector trumpet combo, sounds like a worthwhile upgrade.
