    Speedo corrections for larger tyres

What's everyone using. For me I ignore the dash readout and rely on the GPS

    Gary, have you a Nanocom??

If so, read up in the Aftermarket Tyres sticky up top. You can put an offset number in via nanocom to get the speedo reading correctly. Instructions are in the thread, post #36.

I think the quickest, cheapest and most effective solution is to buy a Polaris heads up display.

It's a tiny black gadget that sits on the dash and projects a green (or white) digital speedo readout onto the windscreen.
It uses GPS to give a very acurate speed reading and also tells you when you're approaching speed and redlight cameras.

    Couldn't be happier with it.

    Hi Heithy,
Does this actually affect the vehicle speedo?
I haven't tried it yet but the section this change is in also has an instrument display section. If I have this display up, the speedo reading on the Nanocom is about 10% out. Other sections of the Nanocom display the correct speed so I thought this offset number might only affect one part of the Nanocom, not the actual vehicle speedo.

One way to find out I suppose...

I've done it to a D2 using my nanocom and it works.

Haven't done it to mine as my (brand new) nanocom is on its way back to Cyprus with issues...

Im not sure why your other ECU's would be reading a different speed to your dash! Either way, the "instrument" method alters the dash speed readout.

The only Nanocom I have is the FCR. it's not going to let me make any changes. However I recently purchased the RSW EAS v4 software which has access to be able to change a lot of the BECM components as well as engine HEVAC etc in addition to the EAS. I couldn't find any reference in the software, so I contacted Storey Wilson. He is now looking into the changing speed module to be incorporated into the software. Storey also runs over sizes tyres on his p38 so there is a personal interest I the modification too.

I tried it today & set it to 2.0.
It had no affect on the vehicle speedo but changed the Nanocom speedo (when in Instruments) to double what it showed before.

It'll still read slow in my case. I need it to be at around 1.1 to get it to match my speedo.
I don't know why the speed can be correct in one Nanocom screen but out in another.
