The Hunter is a big area. Where specifically?
There is Modern Motors at Dungog. They are an ex-dealer. My P38A came from there.
I am trying to find a non-dealer mechanic in the Hunter Valley to service my 1999 P38A EAS. I would like to use after market parts to save money. I have read many posts that speak about doing the work yourself. I do not have the equipment nor skill to be doing EAS work on my own. Any suggestions would be welcome.

there is 4wd industries in Maitland opposite the dole bludger station...
Thanks for the suggestions. I am prepared to go to either Dungog or Maitland to get this done. I will follow-up with both.
I am about 20 minutes west of Cessnock if any other suggestions come up closer.

What sort of work needs doing on your EAS? I live at Kurri and have an EAS diagnostic setup here at home if you want to plug it in?
Thanks all of the people who have answered. In particular, I wish to thank the gentleman from Kurri re offer to plug EAS into his unit. That would be great except driving to Kurri would take some time if doable at all.
I have tried contacting Modern Motors - they are not sure they have the equipment that can talk to the P38 - means transporting the vehicle to Dungog only to check if they can talk to it. Tough call.
The place in Maitland sells the parts I think I will need so will keep them on the list.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Can you describe what is wrong with your car, presumably resting on bump stops? But quite often there are relatively easy fixes even for the non mechanically minded. A diagnostic tool from as little as around $200 may be all you need to be back driving again. Have a look at RSW solutions for the v3/4 eas sooftware. It will give you full access to your eas to test and clear faults. The software resides on your laptop and plugs in to the obd2 port in the passenger footwell with the dedicated cable provided. There are other diagnostic tools but tend to be at a higher price.
