    EAS very odd

Hi, I am a newbie , Just purchased a P38 , I new I would have some work to do on it, It was relatively cheap ,so I thought .
I hope to tap into the wealth of knowledge within the members on this site.
Sadly I do not have much advice to offer in return at this stage .
I have an EAS issue . It appears most RR sag but mine raises onite, only in the front , it is even both sides , tail gate open or not. Start it up the next morning and it drops the front to the required height.
I assume I have 3 leaking valves?. If that is the problem the front control valves are leaking evenly. Front of the Car is level but high,I thought that a little strange but anything is possible.
Is there any other issue that could cause this problem?

    Thanks

    Hello and welcome

The EAS is a strange and wonderful thing, and many things are possible, you may well only have one leaking non return valve adding air to the fronts when the system is left.

First move is to get a valve block rebuild kit, inexpensive from ebay and the like, get a good rebuild guide, either written or on YouTube, and allow about 4 hours to take the block out, replace the o rings and put it back in. It's not a difficult job, I had no idea when I did mine and 18 months later all is still good (touch wood ).

This may solve your problem in one go without you ever knowing what the exact issue was, even if it doesn't it's a good place to start.

You might want to look into a cheap eas computer lead and the free software to, makes the whole thing a lot easier.

Let us know how you go, and once again, welcome to the madness

Hi Chalky, welcome and congrats on the new Rangie!
I think finallyrangie is on the money, there is probably a leak somewhere in the valve block allowing pressure to escape into the front airbags overnight.
I would get an o ring kit first before opening up the valve block, the diaphragm in particular can leak once you open the block up, best to have a new one on hand.
There are good guides on you tube, don't try and rush it, take your time and be careful, best to get it right first go than have to pull it out again.
If you don't know the history of the car, you may want to rebuild the compressor as well while you are in there anyway, also not a hard job, that way you know where everything is at for future reference.
The fact that the vehicle levels itself on start up tells me the height sensors are doing thier job.
Also do the soapy water test to check for any leaks at the connections, again you tube is your friend!
    Hope that helps!
    Cheers, Pete.
