Just another thought....does your display show that the car is in N or P. It won't crank if it believes it is still in gear?

Sorry for lack of reply, was in Launceston yesterday and the car is at Justins, so I'll find out when he gets time.
I didn't get to look at much myself because I was organising a tow truck and a ride home and cleaning out tools and valuables from the car.
Happened late in the day and tow truck arrived in the dark.
Hopefully sorted soon and I will let you know the result.

Well it seems that a coil pack blew up and caused a fuse to blow.
All I know for now.
JC might like to add some more to this.

First I've seen like this! I'll let john post some pics of the old coil pack but it is impressive. Initial symptoms according to john was it started misfiring and then stopped altogether. The coil pack furthest to the passenger side has literally caught fire and looks like a mini vesuvius...😈. Consequently blew fuse 26 which is power to coils and o2 sensors. John has a spare pack so he should be back on the road tomorrow sometime ☺☺😅.

Wow' that could have been far more serious had the fire took hold!
