can anyone tell ne where i can find an exploded view of the front of a 4.6 v8 to help me diagnose my current dilemna.
there appears to be a tensioning pulley directly below the power steering box?(directly under the alternator) and it appears to have a smooth bearing fitted-not a v belt grooved bearing?
i'm wondering if it is easily replaced or if in fact its ok and i might have a bigger problem
thanks

Is that what you're after. Removing the serpentine belt & the tensioner is easy.
This is for the Thor V8

This is the Gems V8

I had to remove the tensioner assembly on mine recently in order to replace the dodgy oil pressure sender, which hides under the tensioner!
Hope his helps![]()
Oops...try the Thor diagram again...

Hope that works!
Thor or GEMS?
The smooth is the idler pulley, the tensioner pulley is grooved. Unfortunately, the grooved pulley isn't available from Dayco in Oz as a separate item, one has to buy the whole tensioner. I got just the pulley from the USA when I was there on holiday.
