Locked out
G'day.
My P38 has been locked for three weeks with the battery disconnected.
Now the door will unlock but wont open.
Like to open bonnet and connect battery.
Any suggestions ?

Does the snipper button move up when unlocking the door?
If not, I'd suggest the link from the lock barrel to the latch has come adrift.
The easiest way to break in is to remove the small window from one of the rear doors. It's just held in by the rubber & will lever out fairly easily - use a firm plastic type lever (like the auto shops sell for trim removal) if you can. Providing the car is not superlocked, you can then open a rear door to at least access your bonnet release.
If the snipper button does come up, I'd say you have a latch jammed somehow or stuck in superlock mode.

Thanks, all good.
it must have created a vacuum or something, but as I pulled on the handle I levered the door gently with a small screwdriver and it popped open.
Sprayed all the locks and hinges with Lanolin and everything opens and closes.
Cheers.
