have recently bought a rough old P38, but it passed roadworthy & everything seems to work

I have a question about the dash lights. I was playing with the dimmer control & dimmed the lights, but then they went out completely & I cant get them back on by using the dimmer ???

anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?
