As requested I've added some photos of the snorkel.
I'll be making some modifications to the way the hat sits, I'm not happy with the amount of water in the air filter box. I hope that making the hat more vertical, it should reduce the amount of water entering the snorkel.

All snorkels let water in when it belts with rain. Even my rear facing one does (and the head is tapered).

The way I overcame it on mine was to put a sock over the head so water runs down the sock and away, rather than being sucked into the air box. I haven’t had a problem since.

Thanks for the info Keithy, I have seen these for sale but had wondered if they were any good.

Mine’s not a Terrafirma one, it’s 4” custom stainless steel ;-)

Personally I think the Terrafirma ones are ugly and pathetically small in diameter.

Unless of course you’re talking about the K&N socks that go over the snorkel head. I can’t comment on them. I literally have a sock (holeproof explorer work sock) over my snorkel head!
