I have a Scan Guage to monitor what the coolant temp sensor 'sees', but I'd like something more as a back up.
I'm also wondering where on the block or head to bolt up such an alarm.
FWIW, I see up to 94 Deg C coolant temp in cooler months and at the moment (30 deg C-plus) a max of 97 in slow traffic, briefly peaking at 98 when stopped, idling. Then drops quickly to about 93 when moving at above 30km/h or so consistantly.
I'm about to flush the system, change all the hoses, theromstat and probably radiator (it has dried coolant showing on the bottom casing join, which may actually be from the overflow outlet when bleeding the system recently).
Read on here about water-wetter or waterless coolant being a waste of time so won't attempt to go there!
