    Need help.

The boys from my work depot rang me and said “ your car lights are on and the hazards” , They couldn’t turn them off. I asked if they could disconnect the battery. After work I reconnected the battery but it wouldn’t start. Plenty of crank but no spark .nrma no help , no fault codes . Hmmmm Any ideas? Obviously electrical or programs?

Cranking but no start might be a failed crank position sensor, but with the other issues you have described, it could be fuse box related.
Do you know how old the fuse box is?
Do you have diagnostic equipment available?
I'd be cheking for any fault codes first to see if that points you in the right direction.
Let us know how you go.

thanx for the reply …. Nrma didn’t detect any faults . I could try my nanocom , just waiting for the rangy to arrive home on the tilt tray. P38 is a 1999.
has been running 30% down in power last few weeks and very thirsty for the same time period.

Yes I'd definitely try the nanocom, sounds like something definitley not happy.
Is yours a Gems or a Thor?
Using fuel and low on power makes me think O2 sensors, is there black soot coming out the exhaust?
If you pull a spark plug out on both sides and check for them being black.

Is there any other weird electrical things going on?
Any messages on the message centre?

Rangy fixed . If the battery droppes below 10.5 the car triggers the engine imobilizer . But won’t show the fault on the nanocom. Then u have to reset your code … can be done on the nano com. Shout out to “Rover Shed Services” who is camped at the 75th anniversary and trouble shouted the issue. Ledgend!
