    P38A snorkel

Available from TerraFirma. Probably not stocked locally but your LR parts guys could order it from their suppliers. Apparently it’s been available for the past 5 years.

I have that snorkel laying around for 3 years now, never got around to cut into the fender and fit it. Anyone have any questions about it, shoot!

I adapted a defender 200Tdi snorkel (left side) you drill the mudguard and you get to the filter box with a flexible hose

Right, reading is hard. (hence the edit)

Anyway, still not mounted but perhaps this summer finally!

I was not aware that defender snorkels would line up? Have any pics?

    Cheers,

for the defender snorkel, you have to build the internal part of the mudguard from scratch, the original one has a wrong fold. I don't have photos, I would have to dismantle everything
the external part adapts as a body curve, as long as it is from the 200Tdi, which mounts it on the left (I have left-hand drive and left-hand filter box)
to get an idea of the interior you can see the site Lucky 8’s Project P38 - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum,
at page 12, you will find how to assemble the internal part

Ah yes! I remember seeing that setup way back. I reckoned the air inlet hosepipe was way too thin in diameter for a 4.6L V8 to breathe properly. Thing is, the same can be said for the terrafirma solution since the plastic is rather thick the inner diameter is not really that big. I might eventually go for one of those 4" big pipes, custom made. I am also considering moving the EAS stuff so that the air intake does not have to skirt the fender or has to be routed internally.

    Cheers,

A 4” Stainless snorkel is what I run. I considered a 3” one, but I don’t want to smoother it, so I had one made up locally at a boilermaking shop.

    4” Stainless Steel
