    2000 P38 Vogue

Hi guys, I'm not getting any response from the What's This Worth page, so I hope that it's okay for me to run this by here.

A partner with Parkinson's needing full-time care means my range-roving days are on hold and my attention is needed elsewhere. My 11/2000 P38 Vogue has 178k's, has been owned by me from 21k's, has Arnott Gen 3's, very nice interior, not so nice exterior (faded paint, minor dents and scratches), manual EAS override, new tyres and battery, Lambs-wool Seat Covers, 11 1/2 months registration. Always had fully synthetic oil, log books, updated ceiling card (black - looks amazing.) Homemade fly-screens, curtains, and bed base. Second battery switch with 45 amp wiring and Anderson plug to the cargo area. CB radio. Always used as a country car. I love and have loved this car, and it has loved me in return. And given me grief (the EAS Manuel Override has solved a lot of that.) Fitted with 16" rims, but 18" are available. Any idea what I should be asking for a quick sale? Thanks in advance.

As there aren't as many p38s around as some others, it's probably harder getting many comments.

Maybe try posting some pics, that usually gets people interested... Works for me!

It will not cheer you up to hear that I paid just $4 grand recently for a 2001 model - but admittedly, that was a 4.0 and not a 4.6 HSE. You will get much more than that IF:

The EAS works as it should without leaks
    The ABS - ditto
Interior in good condition with the leather intact
    Good bodywork, without clearcoat damage

I completely agree that pictures are essential- and many of them for the interior as well as exteriot taken from different angles

Can't say much about the OZ market but down here the lemons have pretty much disappeared and driveable examples have more or less settled on 5k and up from there. That's euro's and not AUD.

It's also become a enthousiast car, ordinary people no longer consider them so. yeah. There is that.

A good and full service history with no problems will help you but I guess if the exterior looks a bit off it won't be easy getting more than (my guess) 4-6k AUD. Not sure if a respray will increase the value in OZ and what it would cost vs the benefit. Down here we don't get that much sun and so no clear coat problems but from what you described it seems the car is in pretty good shape except the exterior and it would be worth getting that fixed since it would increase the price significantly. But! Someone down under should chip in to say if that is the case down there.

In any case, good luck with the partner and the sale.

    -P
