    P38 Immobilisation

    Hi All,

OK, really enjoying the P38 key fob issue (not). I am a bit confounded by the immobilisation. I though that after super-locking with the key fob that the car would be immobilised. What I have found is that a plain metal key will open and start the car.

Here is the test I did:
    1) Super locked the car using the key fob
    2) Moved the key fob more than 10 metres away
    3) Unlocked the car with the key blade (no fob) and started the engine

I have not entered the EKA code. I think the immobiliser has been disabled but not sure if there is something else I am missing. Personally, very happy if immobilisation is disabled, but can anyone shed some light on this for a '99 P38 ?

    Regards, Steve.

EKA is not enabled on early (dunno about later) Australian-delivered P38As

Be thankful the plain key will unlock the car. Be very thankful.
