    AIRCON P38

Aircon is icy for first few minutes then no longer cold?

    Does this mean regas?

Also the button??? if redlight is ON above "aircon off" button then it is OFF? It always seems warmer when the redlight is on also i can here the AC kick in when the light is OFF engine revs drop under extra load.
    cheers

Hi Remy - sounds like the A/C is good and probably functioning normally. Mine is similar on a hot day. All depends what you set the climate control temp at. Check the attached pic to see if your setup is similar to mine. Mine is a 1995 4.6 HSE.

When you press the AUTO button, the A/C tries to match the temp you've set for driver and passenger side (the toggle switches with blue and red arrows on each side of the display). So if you've set the driver side temp to 18 and the ambient temp is 25 (the sensor is below the clock - in the pic attached it is all covered in dust) it should be cold at first until the sensor detects it is close to the dialled temp and then back off.

When you hit the A/C Off button, it will flash to tell you it is off. Also, AUTO will no longer be displayed on the panel.

You can override AUTO A/C by dialling the fan speed.

    cheers, Paul.
