Height Measurements

With testbook the calibration procedure for P38A requires blocks to sit under the bump stops to measure heights. For classic, or P38A with Rovacom you need a tape measure. In both cases the vehicle needs to be on a level surface. The height should be as follows:
Mode Height Offset from Standard
Access 730mm +- 7mm -60mm
Low Profile 770mm +- 7mm -20mm
Standard 790mm +- 7mm 0
High Profile 830mm +- 7mm +40mm
Extended Profile 850mm -7mm/+17mm +60-70mm

These heights are for P38A and measured to the center of the wheelarch with new tyres. The factory fit Pirelli Scorpion has 11mm of tread when new. You may like to correct for this by checking tyre tread.

Warning: if you're temtped to program the system to ride higher than normal, then you will affect the handling of the vehicle and probably invalidate your insurance.

A new question relevant to this thread that i'm sure others will be interested in;

I've got the new GenIII airbags which can go a little higher than OEM's - can i increase the setting for the high profile and extended profile???

Yes: you can set the EAS to take advantage of the extra height available from the Gen 3s. there's a heap of info on rangerovers.net on this question...

should you take advantage of it? that's up to you... I personally wouldn't due to the added stress on universal joints and probable need to lengthen the arms on the height sensors by precise amounts... steering a more thoughtful line through the rough stuff is a cheaper and often better solution.
