Immobiliser/central locking problem "99 R/R HSE
Hi fellas,
Recently had a few issues where I have locked the vehicle.
On trying to unlock - central locking has not activated. Drivers latch only has popped up - alarm activated and engine immobilised.
Have attempted to overide using emergency key access code - to no avail.
Usually the vehicle will unlock normally the following morning !
I have got to the point where I can't afford to lock it when out and about !!!
Have taken to 2 L/R garages who aren't able to assist. On checking the vehicle have stated no faults shown on computer. They say they can only diagnose if vehicle presented whilst faulting !
Therefore unable to tell if it's a key fob (have replaced battery), central locking or computer problem!
HELP !!!!!!!!!!

Hi, this is what i do only to get around the same problem, its not a cure all. For years i left the keys in the ignition, now i throw them on the the dash (garaged of course) apparently something to do with rolling codes. Now for the last few years i lock the car using the key and unlock using the fob. Sometimes this doesnt work so you just unlock using your key. This has worked well for Me after many times having my 99 model placed on a flat bed an taken to the Range Rover dealer.
Short story.......... lock with fob.....unlock with fob. Lock with key unlock with either.
Cheers

Sounds to me like there might be a microswitch problem in the door lock.
Do the interior lights come on upon unlocking with the remote?
