    I think it's the Coolant

He's been having cooling issues ... I have advised him to

    Rod the radiator
    Change the Thermostat
Fill with coolant in the correct fill procedure ... to remove any air locks

Hopefully he has done the first 2 properly

Anyone know how to do the "fill the coolant procedure" on the P38??

The main thing is to disconnect the small hose from the top left hand side of the radiator and blow out any coolant before you start. The air lock forms if there is coolant stuck in this line as it is the breather between the radiator and overflow tank.

I have also installed a TEFBA coolant filter Tefba Filter Radiator Filter - radiator insurance Australia
on mine which gives added protection and makes it easier to fill up.

Be careful to NOT break off the fitting for the hose. I've heard of quite a few owners doing that.
