well thats OK then....ta
If it runs too long, it will overheat and the thermal cutout will turn it off. There is a pressure switch which turns the pump off when the tank reaches, I think, 150 psi.

yeah...mine does that, you can hear the 'pft' after a while and the pump stops....
Yes, I think that's true, Andy. I noticed that on my old compressor.

My EAS compressor has always seemed to run a lot when stopped at traffic lights, intersections etc.
Replaced the compressor piston and ring a couple of months back. The car raises quickly and pressure is good according to the inline pressure guage. Also seems to hold pressure ok overnight - last time I checked it overnight it was around 100-120PSI.
Still I gotta wonder if the regulator on the air locker, which runs straight off the EAS compressor has something to do with it. Or perhaps there is a dodgy non-return valve in the system somewhere?
Cheers, Paul.

compressor can also run on and on due to a dodgy height sensor ...the EAS ECU doesn't get the expected value from the sensor so it 'thinks' that the height is wrong so keeps the compressor going hoping to raise the 'dodgy' corner to the correct level.
check out the free EAS software etc in Rangerovers.net in the P38a forum EAS sticky ...can calibrate the whole shebang with an "íPaq" or a mobile phone...brilliant
