    swapping side mirrors

    My '99 4.0 "pov pack" had a broken passenger side mirror from kissing a tree.

    So I got a replacement mirror from a reputable supplier and it turned out to be from a HSE. So what you say? The 4.0 "pov pack" doesn't have memory seats/mirrors like the HSE and the connectors are different.

    Being the inquisitive type, I compared the wiring diagrams for the two types of mirrors on RAVE and decided that the potentiomenter wires were surplus to my needs and proceeded to swap over the connectors.

    Half good results ensued - I have control to left and up, but nothing to right and down. I can hear a switching sound in the mirror though.

    Your suggestions appreciated.

    Cheers, Paul.

    Nope, it was the dill who wired up the mirror the wrong way around

    If anyone is interested, the correct wiring is:
    red = right
    yellow = left
    grey = up
    blue = down
    black = ground to outstation
    green = +12V from outstation

    works like it should now
