I don't think it's a diff issue if he has blown that many.

Sure, the diff is not the strongest in the world but to do 6 .

Your rear diff is a 4 pin type so that's pretty strong. Your front diff is about as strong as your mates.
(Unless you have 4 wheel TC, in which case you have a 4 pin front too)

Scott, have you seen a post 99 front diff out at work? Are you sure they are all 4 pin? because that toasty blue 2002 HSE only had a 2 pin like all the other ones ive had.
I know they were meant to have a 4 pin, but mabe this was another us only thing.

I haven't seen one out of a car but 4 wheel traction control cars are supposed to have 4 pin front diffs according to the parts catalogue.

yeah well i was a little worried but i guess he did thrash it a little.....Alot! cause the last thing i want is to blow a front dif while im out in the bush.....mind you i never thrashed mine and i still made it through everything he did if not better (no loss of traction) and mine is a 95.5 rangie so yeah.

But he was getting second hand ones for $75 does that mean i can get my hands on one for the same price??

I assume he has an early D1 with the 10 spline axles.
$75 is about the going rate then.
Unfortunately, you can expect to pay a fair bit more than that for one of yours.

damn it! what is a rough estimate i would be looking at?? (for future reference so i can have something in the bank just incase)

Check with Son of Bundalene on eBay. He might have one listed in the near future.
If you're worried about strength, get a 4 pin diff for the front to replace your 2 pin.
