    as simple as it sounds, have a look at how much travel you have at the top of the shock (particularly the front) at standard and highway settings.
    you may just need to recalibrate the settings up a bit

    Other thing to check is the bump stops. Mine has improved a lot since I shortened the extended bump stops.

    If you are running 33"s then you must already have some decent lift unless you've cut the guards. Even with the 2" llift on mine, I still get rubbing on low and standard EAS heights. Are you running Gen II or Gen III's?

    No idea about what bags they are, I had them replaced before I started looking and trying to learn more about P38's. They are probably factory items as the guy who did it worked for Landrover at the time... is there an easy way to tell?

    Havent cut guards, and they do rub a little if I'm bouncing it round in normal and highway... I even get a little rub on Off road when pushing it often just going too fast on moderate humps (like those track wash out potection channels they put all through the Alpine National Park!).

    There are some random pics of the EAS and lift setup of mine at Bump Stops and EAS but I haven't narrated it yet.

    There are a couple of issues that I'm still wanting to address with the extra lift:
    1. castor angle of the steering due to twisting of the diff. Fix = spacers or lowering of front raduis arms?
    2. vibration in front propshaft. Fix = double cardan joint?

    Are these issues a result of spacers? I would love to bang them in if they are relatively easy and dont have major impacts to the performance of the vehicle. Which poses another question, how hard is this stuff to fiddle with? I put a 2" lift on the Mrs' 100 series Landcruiser about a month ago (never done anything like it before) and would be game to tackle the "pretty pig" if it wasn't much harder than that.

    To multi-quote from the same message, just copy the [ quote=<name>;<Message ID>] and put it before the first word you want to quote, and put [/quote] after the last word... think of it like quotation marks... which they are in a techo sort of way.

    you can quote from multiple messages too. Just open the second message in a new window, reply, copy/paste the text in to your original reply... I'm doing it now

    Mine was bottoming out on the bumps on highway and normal mode because I had extended bump stops and my ride height was set too low. I cut the bump stops down a bit, recalibrated the height settings and problem fixed. Should not be a problem with normal bump stops unless you have recalibrated your ride heights down.

    there may be a label on them somewhere. If they are Arnott's they will look similar like this (but perhaps cleaner than mine )

    Got me beat... that's what I used to get with 31"s on my old P38A and no change to EAS settings... 33"s wouldn't fit until I got the "new" P38A with the spacer lift.

    I think I read over at RangeRovers.NET that you can do about a 1" EAS-only lift with no other mods. Just use EASunlock and a tape measure.

    To do the 2" lift like mine, you'll need longer shocks and air bags if you have stock units now, plus the spacers themselves. Don't think you need to lengthen brake lines or breathers for a 2" lift.

    I reckon I must be on the 31" tyres you mention and will double check next time I am downstairs near the off road tyre piles. They look so very close in size to the Mrs Landcruisers' 33" mudzillas. Will let you know...

    As far as spacers are concerned, I reckon I'll give that a miss... I am taking it to my new friendly "non-dealer" garage to have the HEVAC fixed next wednesday, might ask them if they can reset the heights with EAS unlock, surely they would be edumacated in this stuff?!?

    The bags look like yours, but don't have arnott written on them anywhere I can see, and I am gonna get the new friendly "non-dealer" garage guys to check out the sshocks for me whilst in there... assuming they need replacing, would you suggest "having a go" given I was game enough (and successful) on that LC100?

    Size doesn't matter as long as you are happy with the performance... at least that is what I tell my wife
    If you want to check, what is the diameter of the tyres? 33"s should be about 1006mm and 31"s about 945mm

    I find it amusing that your Mrs drives a 'cruiser... mine drives a Freelander and reckons the Rangie is too big for her and her Boxer (dog)

    Maybe, but don't count on it unless they are fans of P38A's. Easy enough to do yourself with a laptop and the right cable. For the grand price of a couple of bottles of half-decent red I'll supply and make up the cable for you myself , or better still buy one from Storey Wilson at Land Rover Reset Tools - EASunlock

    You seem like a bloke who enjoys a challenge, so I'd say go for it but keep the original bits in case you change your mind. I've still got the original shocks and bags for mine but haven't had the desire to go back to stock. I'm still enjoying the "journey" of getting mine sorted with the lift and aftermarket bits.

    Well yeah, they are definetley 31 than 33". I had a look under the house tonight and found they are actually 265-75-16.

    Mrs 100 series was recently purchased for the 8 seats as family (and visiting friends/relo's) neccesitated it. I have been slowly sorting it for family touring and camping (read 4wding) duties, but funnily enough the lady still likes to drive it as for all the size externally they are a bit like a reverse tardis. Inside they just feel like a standard sedan (falcon/commodore or similar) and they also drive and handle like a much smaller vehicle. It may also be that she has warmed up on the P38 as we have had that about 5 years now...

    Will have a look at the Storey stuff soon, as never even got to the subject with the workshop dudes.

    Thanks for all the advice, and yes it does seem like a "journey" with these machines... but I'm sure the legal system used to call this sort of experience "trial by ordeal"... well that sounds much more in tune with "the journey" my "pretty pig" has taken me on anyway!!!
