I'm OK with it, but I'm generally only logged in during business hours.

    Hi Aussie
I don't use MSN messenger, most things Microsoft are not real good. I mainly use Skype far more secure etc.. if you use voice at all then you can talk for free anywhere and the reception is perfect. I use Skype for all my phone calls I pay for this one and I ring from Skype to any phone anywhere in the world, 30 mins to the UK costs me 75c not bad really.

Anyway your idea is good regardless Aussie

There are many other types of IM that you can use that will talk too WL users, yahoo and trillian for example. The only downside is you lose some file transfer abilities.

    Hi adm333

Skype has one of the best File transfer capabilities, I transfered a file yesterday it was 213 Mg's took one hour not bad at all. I have worked with all these messengers for the last 12 years and I find Skype to be the best around for all things you may want to do.... Skype to Skype free.... Skype to phone.... file transfers etc etc, I also work a lot with voice conference rooms with my internet businesses, there's a lot of good stuff out there.

    Coasting,

I hear you loud and clear.

Problem is most of the people I have to IM with for work and stuff use Windows.

I could use Skype, but then I'd be there on my Pat Malone.

I really don't use it enough to be any kind of officianado on whats better.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave

You obviously know a lot more about Rangies than puters...lol
Skype is a windows program, just like MSN..Yahoo messenger, etc they all work with windows, most people are not very up with messengers they tend to go with what ever company pushes the hardest, like Microsoft and MSN.. they are not very secure and have some draw backs, Skype addresses all these problems.

    Regards
