You need one with wheel supports, similar to this one but with 4 rails:

You could probably construct one, and hope your tow bar can handle it.
I need a 4 bike rack but with each have a different frame i dont know if there is a rack that will be suitable, kids have girls MTB's, wife has a retro vintage ladies bike and i have a normal style mens MTB.

Yes i think it will have to be a DIY job as that rack must be silver plated.

There are also products which add an extra top tube for carrying ladies bikes on a normal clamping rack. Could work if you are not picky about your bikes. E.g. http://m.ebay.com/itm/271565147179
Can you use the roof as well?
I had to bring four MTB's back with me from the Sunshine Coast on the weekend and this is how I did it.
Thule roof racks clamped to the extended roof rails with 3 x Thule Proride bike holders (they clamp the frame and the wheels).
I could fit up to six or maybe even eight bikes on the roof if I wanted to with a third roof rack bar and more holders.
I also have a spare tyre mounted rack that I have modified to fit around the 33's that I carried one bike on (can hold two bikes).
I have the same issue with frame sizes / shapes not lending to the normal carrier. The youngests TREK frame is too small a main triangle for the bars to go through, the wifes TREK SLX frame has a large curved top tube, my Cannondale has a rear shock in the way under the top tube and that only leaves the eldest sons bike that can fit the rear frame holder.
On the sedan I run three on the roof and one on a rear boot clamped on bike holder.
