I've just bought an 03 Kona Stinky. The guy I bought it off spent $7500 on it.

Don't worry I didn't spend anywhere near that much for it. That was on top of the $2000 it cost him to buy.

I do a bit of commuter cycling and mucking around in the bush in my own time, but I do most of my cycling these days as a public safety cyclist.

    My bike(s) - '98 Giant Rincon SE.

Old, not brilliant but got 2 of them at the right price (ex St John Ambulance cycle response team)

Would love to get a decent bike but I flog the crap out of this one and I can't say it has let me down yet. If it did I always have another one.

Out of interest, the new responder cycles are Trek 6500s. I find that the frame flexes a lot more than the old Giants and I wonder whether they will last nearly as long...

Admittedly though, we do put 20kg of gear on them and ride up and down stairs...

The disc brakes and better suspension on the new bikes is a welcome advance though.

I have an Orbea Zenit, I got it for the Crocodile Trophy in October. Then we brough a Disco to transport them around in (a lot easier than a Barina!)

I just picked up my new Trek Ex8 on Monday after wearing out my previous Trek hard tail. So far I have done 200km in 2 days and absolutely love it. For a dual suspension it flies on the road and I made a couple of road bikes embarrassed when I went past making heaps of noise with the knobblies.
