Sorry kelvin but I won't be at Cruiser! I actually didn't rejoin the club this time round... atleast just for a little while... I can't actually "unsign" myself for the trip because i don't have access to the club area on the forum haha.

But I am hoping to get it going for the Opposite Lock challenge next weekend! I bought a front locker on Tuesday so I want to get that in and I am still waiting on the new high pressure line for my PAS! Also I had plans on ripping out the centre console and building a CDL lever.... Man am I going to be busy for the next week or so haha.

Spent the afternoon on the bar... got the end on and lined up. Doesnt look like a whole lot but i was constantly putting the bar on, marking, then taking it off and cutting then back on to check... didnt want to stuff it up! especially when essentially i am sort of making up most of the end bit as i go... measurement wise atleast.

Here's the end, and a bit of a drawing over where i plan to run the bar down the side

The bar im going to run down the side is 75x50 with 2mm wall, it will then bolt in to the chassis as i've previously stated.

Also the ends will be capped obviously, still just getting the angles right with the grinder

I started cutting the quarter but was rather nervous about it slipping up and ruining my paint job and because of the nerves i manage to cut myself for the first time with the grinder... pretty deep into the tip of my finger haha so i called it a night. I think tmrw i will cut it with some duc tape along the top of the line to try and prevent scratching!!

    Cheers,
    Shamo

A cut through the middle of a strip of masking tape will stop the chipping. Just run it 50/50 over the area to cut and re-mark the line with permanent marker over the top.

    Hey all,

Bit of an update, i was away all last week so work stopped for a while there.

Have done most of the bar, i have pics but my internet has been throttled back to dial up speed so it's not possible to upload them at the moment! Hoping to finish it by the end of the week though before i get back to uni.

Have run in to a few small problems at the moment in regards to the bracing to the chassis from the side wings. The exhaust is in the way of where i want to run the bracing arm... Does anyone know if its illegal in QLD for the exhaust to end not at the outside of the car? As im thinking of just cutting it back a little... I know it's probably silly asking as illegal, as the rest of the car isnt much better but I think it's just something that the police are going to be able to pick alot easier driving behind me...

    Cheers,

Ok more pics time! I have relocated myself back to Brissie as I am about to resume uni, so not much done this week, but I decided to bring the welder and most of my gear here to try and finish it off, as all I really need to do now is edging and finishing.

Outside to get a good picture...

Doing this is the most time consuming part at the moment, as i want to metal fill it all (weld grind weld grind weld grind) so I can get it powdercoated

Pics don't do this part much justice but in person it's starting to shape up really quite nicely

Hoping to have it finished by this weekend for a run to cruiser park

    Cheers,
    Shamo
